| SLO update -
I came down to SLO two days ago with my friend jessica to see some of our old friends from high school, and also so I could see some of my brothers...it was my president's birthday and about 5 of us were down there for the day, so we ended up going to this club called grad, which is by far the most ghetto place I have ever been...the line for under 21 was a good 200 people long, so jessica and i peaced and hung out at pismo until my brother drew left the club...
stayed with drew that night and the next morning jess left and drew and i spent the day in SLO, actually running into one of my close friends from high school, the beautiful ms. becky roberts...anyways, that night we hung out with the cal poly betas, really good guys - needless to say drew and i both woke up late this morning and proceded to find a good breakfast place - and now the day is young and im hittin the waves.

| So I decided to try to start posting again, though I doubt I will be able to keep it up...
break so far has been bittersweet, at best...I've seen a lot of people that I really value as friends (shira, kirkMAN, monica) and also have realized that a lot of my former friends really aren't all the great things that I once thought they were...needless to say, I believe im in the middle of getting my heart broken by a girl i once considered my best friend...but whatever.
new years eve was cool, hung out with raf, laura, garrett,. sara hall, didn't do any drinking....which is quite unfortunate, but I guess good company is the best i could ask for and that's what I got.
watching usc beat the shit out of michigan - and preparing for my set tommorrow night at aviano

| so last night was my first sleepless night here at columbia - finished up the astronomy problem set by 3:30, went to columbia bagels at 4, and came home and wrote my last fresno bee review, just in time to sit on the steps and watch the sunrise...made me feel like for the first time New York was my home.
this weekend was my best yet - and surprisingly my most sober. Thursday night I went to the west end (big offcampus bar) with the boys and met some pretty cool people there. Friday and saturday I went to jones beach for two different concerts - on friday it was the sprite tour, which was the roots, the neptunes, oar, and some other - met talib kweli, black thought, two of the other roots, and pharell, which was pretty cool...saturday night I went with adam, his girl from back home, and my friend laura to see the chili peppers, which was a completely awesome experience...had great seats and saw an incredible show.
so apparently all of my friends have like met julia stiles (she goes to CU) and some other celebrities on campus - they're liars - my only brushes with fame so far have been meeting the lead singer of brand new at their show last week and making good with a model in my french class - yeah, she has pictures with edward norton, which i think is the coolest thing i've ever seen.
anyhow, enough of the vida loca, i have french in an hour and a shitload of music hum
for now

| alright - here's the big new york update....
so i got into Jersey last saturday, actually sat next to a columbia alum and a columbia mom on the flight - stayed in jersey for the next two days, shopping for dorm room shit and doing other things with my high strung family...
go to columbia at 645 on monday morning, and got completely moved into my room by 8. Pierce my roommate wasn't there because of football practice, and actually is rarely around right now because he practices from 7 to 10 at night....but he is a great guy, and we've been having a good time.
for the first week, during the day there were just lots of lectures and discussions on different orientation things.....the school goes pretty far out of their way to make us comfortable and talkative and whatnot....which is ok...but kind of nauseating....my floor is mad chill, there are some cool people, i've already been hanging out alot with some girls down the hall and these guys ben, adam, and ian....shits been cool
nights here are absolutely insane....for the past few nights, we've all just pregamed at the dorms and then gone to dinner or the frats or the bars around here....its pretty different from fresno...people stay outside til like 3 on the quad, frats and bars are open til like 330...
last night was probably the most eventful of the week, took 10 shots and went to madison square garden for a dance with elyse....came back to the frats, got a call from patrice and leanne, and hung out with them the rest of the night - totally cool chicks, they're coming over in a bit...
anyways....new york has been good to me, classes start in a week....im taking intro to human rights, intro to african civ., lit humanities, music humanities, astronomy + geology, and french....pretty impacted sked for first year, but should be fun
im out
